City of Pensacola Turns Over Property for Airport Hotel
On September 23, 2010 the Pensacola City Council adopted a resolution that approves the terms of a settlement agreement reached on September 21st between the City of Pensacola, Sandspur Development, LLC and PNS Hotel Group (competitors that own three hotels in the Airport market).
On September 30th, 2010 The City Manager’s office sent official notice to Sandspur Development, LLC that the turnover of the property will be on November 30, 2010.
Sandspur Development, LLC is now underway with the completion of its landscape plans, which include a tree preservation plan for key trees that will be preserved along 12th Avenue, creating an attractive, mature landscape buffer for the project. Additionally, architectural plans will be completed in preparation of construction. Civil Engineering plans are completed and already approved by the City of Pensacola.
Now that the property has been officially turnover over to Sandspur Development, LLC, the developer can enter into lease agreements for the various outparcels on the Airport and 12th project.
Our Master Plan has been significantly improved by Spencer Maxwell Bullock Architects.
Civil Engineering is now underway by Geci & Associates.
A Landscape Master Plan in now underway by WAS Design.
Greenhut Construction has been hired by the Airport to demolish the existing improvements on the site.
In May, 2009 Innisfree branded the development “Airport and 12th” , revised its master plan. The airport turned the property over to Sandspur on November 30th, 2010. Construction will begin no later than July 2011.
The Airport expects to turn over the site in July, 2009, having completed the new rental car facility and new long term parking lot.
